I moved to Thamesmead in 1974 to a tower block in Yarnton Way. When my sister visited for the first time she was lost for around an hour as the road name was missing and she was unable to find our address.
I also remember the Thamesmead Town shows from the early days. My daughter and a neighbours son won the toddlers fancy dress one year as Pearly King and Queen.
